B decays into two light pseudoscalar mesons and possible effects of enhanced b → sg

We consider the branching ratios and CP asymmetry in the B meson decays into two pseudoscalar mesons in the generalized factorization approximation. We also investigate the possible effects of the enhanced chromomagnetic interaction b → sg on these exclusive B meson decays that was suggested as a possible solution to the semileptonic branching ratio of B mesons, the missing charm puzzle and the large B → η′+Xs. We finds that such enhanced b → sg interaction degrades the agreement between the data and the model predictions for B meson decays into two light mesons in the generalized factorization approximation. 13.25.Hw Typeset using REVTEX ∗e-mail : [email protected] †e-mail : [email protected] ‡e-mail : [email protected]

I discuss the results of a recent quenched lattice calculation of the two independent form factors parametrizing the semileptonic decays between heavy-light pseudoscalar mesons. The differential decay rate of the process B → Dℓν has been calculated at non vanishing momentum transfer both in the case of the light leptons ℓ = e, µ and in the case of a non vanishing lepton mass ℓ = τ.

We analyze the decay modes B → D∗−D0K+ and B → D∗−D∗0K+ and, using the available experimental data, we find bounds for the constants g and h describing the strong coupling of heavy mesons to light pseudoscalar mesons. Both the decay channels are dominated by broad L = 1 charm resonances; the dominance is effective also in B → D−D0K+ and B → D−D∗0K+.
